NUHW accepted the worst contract in Kaiser history on Sunday, November 15, 2015 after five years of failed strikes, pickets, and no raises.
NUHW promised that they would never settle a contract at Kaiser unless it included retro pay, and no compromises on job security, and health benefits. But, they caved in to Kaiser’s demands on all three.
Now, NUHW Integrated Behavioral Health Services workers at Kaiser are permanently 10% behind on raises compared to SEIU-UHW Kaiser members, facing loss of all retro pay, have no industry-standard job security, and will have to pay four times higher than Kaiser’s SEIU-UHW members for doctor visits and pharmacy co-pays.
